Teak sideboard
Teak sideboard
An office cabinet that works just as good as a small sideboard or mediabench. Looks just as great with a record player, tv or some Upsala Ekeby vases :)
Not marked, but probably Norwegian late fifties or early sixties. These are very sturdy pieces that are often better made than the sideboards made for home use. It has a veneered backside so it works just as well with the backside visible. No need to keep it against the wall or in a corner (enter Dirty Dancing line here...).
It has a small raised lip at the backside, cool little round handles for the sliding doors and some very nice joints. The veneer is in very good shape for it´s age with only two darker lines at the top (see pictures). These could possibly be removed by some gentle sanding, but we decided against it as the general condition is so good.
It has two rooms, all with removable shelves. Many of the shelves are marked with dyno-strips. These are easily removed, but kept them there as a cool reminder of it´s past life in the office. There´s even a shelve marked "phonebook", so now you never have to wonder where you left it...
